Only 13% of people report living with high levels of good mental health
More than 4 in 10 people say they have experienced depression
The World Health Organisation advises that if we do not act urgently, “…by 2030 depression will be the leading cause of the disease burden globally”
Since September 2016, we have been conducting a weekly programme in The Hertfordshire & Essex High School and Science College - a high-achieving, all girls secondary school.
This programme has consisted of one hour-long lunchtime workshop per week for nine Year 11 students and was entirely voluntary - a testament to the value the students have seen in the programme.
These students were offered this opportunity if they were highlighted as having particular behaviour or anxiety issues at school and the results we have seen have dramatically surpassed the school's expectations.
Here are a selection of some of the highlights of our results.
RESULTS IN A NUTSHELL:
100% improvement in every category in 7 out of 9 students who completed the questionnaire
NO extra provisions required to accommodate anxiety or panic attacks during GCSE exam period
100% improvement in attitudes towards family relationships
Significant improvement in each student's health

Changes Over Time
The SPARK INITIATIVE create and deliver curricula based on the same form of mental health and wellbeing education that we teach. They predominantly work in challenging communities and schools in the state of Florida. Their results are exceptional.

We are an Educational Wellbeing Consultancy based in Hertfordshire, UK, led by teacher and coach Ed Anthony.
We teach a new understanding of the mind to families and school communities, which restores wellbeing in staff, students and parents. We operate in both primary and secondary education and the wider community, making bespoke courses to suit each client's individual needs.
In the past 18 months we have brought this new understanding of stress and happiness to a range of primary and secondary schools and have been astounded by the results. For this understanding to remain in a school long term, it is essential that at least two members of staff gain a deep level of understanding. This cannot be achieved through technique and application; the individual needs to see this change in their own life.
It is our aim to ensure that every family and school experiences high levels of wellbeing and resilience.
